New Year brings about new beginnings and a hopeful outlook in life for the future. For Daniel ‘KidPoker' Negreanu, he finally decided that the beginning of 2019 is the best time to start a wedded life for him with past girlfriend Amanda Leatherman.
Negreanu had been married previously for just a few months back in 2007 to Lori Lin Weber.
Negreanu and Leatherman first met in 2010 and both of them were in relationships at that time, but when they both became single, they eventually started dating. Their initial relationship did not last long, and Amanda Leatherman vanished from the Las Vegas poker scene for some time after she split with Daniel, saying that partying was too much for her.
After being with girlfriend Marisa Rachelle Rodney for four years, Negreanu said that they broke up last summer, saying that despite a "lot of hard work" from both of them, things weren't working out.
By the time the 2018 WSOP ended, Leatherman came back to the poker scene as a spokesmodel and interviewer on Friday Night Poker, and the two of them started hanging out again. With their past romance being rekindled, the Canadian poker pro was determined not to let her slip by out of his life once more.
Daniel said on a recent DAT Poker podcast, "We met when we were very young, (well, she was young) and we had our experiences in life. I was in a relationship, and she was in one until the stars aligned. Amanda and I have been hanging out a lot, and she's making me really, really happy..."
When they got a little bit older and wiser this time, the pair decided to give their relationship another chance and since then have appeared to be genuinely happy with each other.
On New Year's eve, Daniel Negreanu popped the question to Friday Night Poker host Amanda Leatherman, and this news was shared on their Instagram accounts. The 44-year-old went down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes!
Amanda shared the news on her Instagram along with a photo of Negreanu's post on Facebook.
The date for the wedding has not been officially announced yet, but for sure there will be plenty of guests wanting to witness this momentous marriage of one of the world's best players in poker.
Negreanu definitely now has it all in this life - success, wealth and finally, love!
